St John's Anglican Church Book Launch

Opened in 1873, St John’s Anglican Church holds many stories of people and community activities.

The Anglican Parish of Coromandel Valley celebrated their Church's 145^th Anniversary with the launch of a book detailing its history and the stories behind the its stunning leadlight windows.

The Church hall overflowed with guests including past Parishioners, Anglican Church officials and members of Coromandel Valley CFS (who saved the building from fire some years ago).

The book was been a joint project of St John's Anglican Church congregation and Coromandel Valley & Districts Branch, National Trust SA.

Erica Cox launched the history book. Her family were founding members of St John's Anglican Church congregation in 1872.

Coromandel Valley CFS representatives Janita, Ian & Aaron

Ian an Janita Bentley, who were members of the Coromandel Valley CFS team that saved St John's from fire in 1999, were invited to blow out the candles on the Anniversary cake.

Parishioners will be forever grateful to Coromandel CFS for saving their Church from fire caused by a smouldering candle.
